In our wandering around, we had plenty of opportunities to take in French Quarter architecture. The photo above was the corner nearest to our hotel. From some parts of the French Quarter, you could easily see old architecture and new architecture (in the Central Business District) at the same time. There are lots of plants and personal touches out on balconies and along the street. And there are quite a few courtyards that can be glimpsed behind gates.
