Mississippi State Capitol
After leaving Lafayette Cemetery, we took a little walking tour of the Garden District, courtesy of one of the guidebooks I checked out from the library. We saw quite a few houses with interesting architecture and history, and a few houses once owned by actors, authors, and football players. There were also quite a few old, large trees, some of which were trying to take over sidewalks and other areas with their roots.
After our walking tour, we had lunch at a fun diner, drove over by Tulane and Loyola, and headed out of town, bound for Jackson, Mississipi, then Memphis, then home.
We stopped in Jackson to visit the state capitol, pictured above. We saw the chambers for the state house and state senate. Although the state houses were in session, they were all done for the day. After we'd poked around and seen the sights, we headed back outside and started towards home.
And now I'm finally done with my trip photos! It only took a month after the end of the vacation to get it finished. Geez.
